The UN Geneva Graduate Study Programme 2026 is now accepting applications for postgraduate students interested in gaining practical insight into the workings of the United Nations. This prestigious two-week summer program, held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, runs from 29 June to 10 July 2026 and focuses on the theme “AI and Emerging Technologies: Realities, Risks and Opportunities.” Participants will explore international issues, engage with UN experts, and gain hands-on experience in multilateral diplomacy and global governance.
The Graduate Study Programme (GSP) is the United Nations’ longest-running educational initiative, with a legacy of over 63 years. Nearly 3,500 young participants from more than 120 countries have benefited from this immersive program, which combines lectures, collaborative research, group projects, institutional visits, and networking opportunities. The 64th edition allows students to enhance their understanding of the UN system, polish professional skills, and build global connections.
Eligibility for the UN Geneva Graduate Study Programme requires applicants to be between 22 and 32 years old, enrolled in a graduate-level program such as a Master’s, MBA, PhD, or post-doctorate, and to have completed a Bachelor’s degree. Fluency in English is mandatory, and only candidates not employed full-time are eligible. Applicants must be actively studying at the time of application.
Participation is free, though participants are responsible for travel and living expenses. The program provides direct exposure to UN operations, lectures from officials, diplomats, and researchers, and the opportunity to collaborate with other talented postgraduate students from around the world.
Applicants must submit a CV (one page), a motivation video of up to 60 seconds, a recommendation letter, a copy of their passport or national ID, a Bachelor’s diploma, and proof of current graduate enrollment. Applications are completed online, and each applicant can submit only once. Notifications will be sent in April 2026.
The deadline for submitting applications to the UN Geneva Graduate Study Programme 2026 is 20 February 2026. This program offers a unique chance to gain valuable insights into the United Nations and international policy while connecting with emerging global leaders.
