Korean Government Announces Fully Funded GKS 2026 Scholarships for Pakistani Students

The Korean Government has introduced the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026, offering a fully funded opportunity for Pakistani students to pursue higher education in South Korea. This international scholarship covers tuition, living expenses, airfare, Korean language training, health insurance, and other essential costs. It is available for undergraduate, graduate, and research programs, allowing students from Pakistan to gain world-class education and international exposure.

The scholarship fully funds tuition at selected Korean universities and provides a monthly stipend ranging from approximately 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 KRW to cover living expenses. It also includes economy-class round-trip airfare from Pakistan to South Korea, comprehensive medical insurance for the duration of study, a settlement allowance for a one-year Korean language program before the degree begins, a completion grant upon arrival, and additional support for research, thesis work, or printing costs where applicable.

Pakistani students at different academic levels are eligible to apply. Undergraduate candidates should generally be under 25 years old and have completed or be about to complete high school. Graduate applicants, including Master’s and PhD candidates, must hold relevant prior degrees and are typically expected to be under 40 years old. Applicants must be Pakistani citizens with no Korean parentage, maintain good health, and demonstrate strong academic performance, generally equivalent to an 80 percent average or ranking in the top 20 percent of their class.

Students can choose from a wide range of academic fields, including engineering and technology, natural and life sciences, social sciences, economics, business, arts, humanities, and more. Applications can be submitted via two tracks: the Embassy Track through the Korean Embassy in Pakistan or the University Track directly to a chosen Korean university, with applicants required to select only one track to remain eligible.
