Pakistani students seeking to pursue Master’s or PhD studies abroad have an excellent opportunity through the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme 2026. This fully funded scholarship is designed to support outstanding researchers from around the world, offering the chance to study and conduct research at top Irish universities. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial assistance for postgraduate research, including a yearly stipend of approximately €25,000 to cover living expenses, tuition support up to €5,750 annually with additional assistance for non-EU students, and research funds of around €3,250 per year for travel, materials, and fieldwork. The scholarship duration is up to two years for a Master’s by research and up to four years for a PhD, with programs commencing on 1 September 2026. Applicants from all nationalities, including Pakistani students, across all academic disciplines and interdisciplinary research areas are eligible. The programme is administered by the Irish Research Council and funded by the Government of Ireland, aiming to foster advanced research talent worldwide. Pakistani students can apply if they have a strong academic record with first-class or upper-second-class honours (or equivalent), are starting a new Master’s or PhD by research program or are within the first year of such a program at a recognized Irish institution, have secured a primary supervisor who can endorse their application, and can present a clear and compelling research proposal. This scholarship provides a valuable pathway for Pakistani researchers to gain international experience, access cutting-edge research resources, and develop their academic careers in Ireland.
