Applications are open for the fully funded TechGirls Exchange Program 2026 in the USA, offering young women from eligible countries a unique opportunity to enhance their skills in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). This seven-month leadership exchange program includes a 23-day summer session in the United States, combining academic, cultural, and community-based learning experiences. Participants will engage in mentoring, collaborative projects, and activities designed to strengthen leadership, innovation, and practical problem-solving skills in technology and related fields. The program will bring together 111 young women from 37 countries, providing them with the chance to study at Virginia Tech University, participate in community-based projects under mentorship, and connect with a global network of peers. TechGirls aims to empower participants to build sustainable careers in STEM, develop practical and social skills, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. The program is fully funded, covering international and domestic travel, visa fees, meals, on-campus accommodation at Virginia Tech, hotel accommodation in Washington, D.C., local transportation, and emergency health insurance. Participants will also have access to educational and cultural events throughout the program. Eligible applicants must be 15 to 17 years old at the start of the exchange, demonstrate strong interest and skills in STEM, have advanced intermediate English proficiency, and plan to pursue higher education or careers in STEM. Applicants must be citizens and current residents of participating countries, have at least one additional semester of secondary school after returning home, and be committed to completing a community-based project. Previous participation in ECA exchange programs in the past three years or dual citizenship living abroad disqualifies applicants. Required application documents include a recent photograph, school transcripts, essay responses, applicant signatures, and passport details if available. The selection process involves review by an independent committee and interviews conducted by U.S. embassy personnel for semi-finalists. The deadline to apply for the TechGirls Exchange Program 2026 is January 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST. This program offers a fully funded, transformative international experience for young women seeking to develop leadership and technical skills in STEM and contribute to their global communities.
