The Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program 2026 is a fully funded leadership residency held at Yale University for mid-career professionals committed to justice, global leadership, and positive change. This program provides a unique opportunity for individuals from diverse professional backgrounds—including journalism, activism, government, business, non-profits, and the arts—to step back from their current roles, connect with global peers, and refine their leadership capacity.

Held at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, the program runs from mid-August to mid-December 2026 and is based at the International Leadership Center. The four-month experience includes weekly seminars exploring the idea of a good society, skill-building workshops, one-on-one coaching, academic course auditing, panel discussions, student mentoring, retreats, and trips to places like New York City and Washington, D.C. Fellows also present their work and perspectives to the broader Yale community, engaging with students and faculty in ways that expand mutual understanding and collaboration.

Each year, the cohort is intentionally global and interdisciplinary. The program brings together 16 accomplished professionals from various countries, fields, and cultures, fostering a space where diverse viewpoints can be exchanged and challenged.

Applicants must have between five and twenty-five years of professional experience with a record of achievement and integrity, as well as a demonstrated commitment to public service and global citizenship. Candidates must not be full-time students or academics and must commit to residing in New Haven, Connecticut, for the entire program duration. While dual U.S. citizens may apply, priority is given to those whose professional focus lies outside the United States. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.

All selected fellows receive full financial support. This includes a monthly taxable stipend to cover living expenses, a furnished one- or two-bedroom apartment, comprehensive medical insurance, and round-trip airfare from their home country to the United States. The fellowship does not require an application fee.

To apply, candidates must complete an online application form, which includes submitting a résumé or CV, a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and potentially a short video. Applications must be submitted by December 3, 2025. Early preparation is advised due to the competitive nature of the selection process.

The program offers more than just financial support or academic prestige—it provides an opportunity to recharge, connect with a global network of changemakers, and shape ideas that can lead to meaningful societal transformation. Fellows leave the program with stronger leadership skills, deeper global insight, and long-term connections that extend well beyond the Yale campus.
