Applications are now open for the University of Lausanne Scholarship 2026 in Switzerland. This prestigious master’s program is designed for international students from non-EU/EEA countries who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and are seeking to pursue a master's degree in Europe. Each year, the University of Lausanne awards around ten merit-based scholarships to outstanding students from around the world.

This scholarship is aimed at those who have completed their undergraduate studies at a foreign institution and are looking to continue their academic journey at one of Switzerland's leading research universities. The University of Lausanne offers a rich, interdisciplinary learning environment and promotes academic excellence across a wide range of faculties, including Arts, Business, Law, Social and Political Sciences, Biology and Medicine, Geosciences, and Theology.

The scholarship provides a monthly stipend of CHF 1,600 for the full duration of the master’s program, which typically spans one and a half to two years, depending on the course of study. Recipients are also exempt from most university tuition fees, with only a nominal charge of CHF 80 per semester remaining.

To be eligible, applicants must hold a foreign university degree equivalent to a graduate qualification recognized by UNIL, possess an excellent academic record, and demonstrate a strong command of either French or English at a C1 level, depending on the language of instruction of the chosen master’s program. The program is not open to those already affiliated with UNIL. Applicants must also be able to cover any additional living or administrative costs not included in the scholarship.

The application process is entirely online. Candidates must submit a complete application file in PDF format, including a signed application form, academic transcripts, a motivation letter, curriculum vitae, two letters of recommendation, proof of language proficiency, a copy of their passport, and payment confirmation of the CHF 200 administrative fee. In some cases, candidates may be required to send certified documents by post, particularly if their degree was issued in a country that has not ratified the Lisbon Recognition Convention.

Successful candidates will be informed of the selection results in April following the November 1, 2025 application deadline. This scholarship offers a valuable opportunity to study at a top European university, engage with a diverse international academic community, and gain exposure to cutting-edge research and expert faculty.

The University of Lausanne Scholarship 2026 represents not only financial support but also an academic and professional launchpad for ambitious students seeking to make a global impact through their education in Switzerland.
