The CERN Administrative Student Program 2026 in Switzerland is an exceptional fully funded internship opportunity for international students who aspire to gain professional experience in administrative and management-related fields. Organized by CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, this program invites highly motivated undergraduate and master’s students to work alongside some of the most innovative professionals in Europe. Located in Geneva, CERN is one of the world’s most prestigious research centers, known for its groundbreaking scientific contributions and commitment to global collaboration.

The CERN Administrative Student Program aims to nurture future professionals by offering hands-on experience across a wide range of disciplines, including human resources, law, business administration, logistics, communications, finance, education, public relations, psychology, translation, and library sciences. Each year, approximately 50 students from CERN Member and Associate Member States are selected to participate in this program. Interns will spend between two and twelve months at CERN, during which they will engage in meaningful projects, attend workshops, and receive mentorship from experts in their respective fields.

This program is fully funded, providing interns with a monthly stipend of 3,472 Swiss francs, travel allowances, and medical insurance. Married participants or those with children are also eligible for additional financial support. Participants will benefit from 2.5 paid leave days per month, giving them time to explore Switzerland’s cultural and professional landscape while networking with professionals from around the world.

The eligibility criteria are specific—applicants must be nationals of CERN Member or Associate Member States, have completed at least 18 months of their university studies, and be enrolled full-time in a degree related to administrative disciplines at the time of the internship. Proficiency in English or French is required, and students must commit to staying at CERN for a minimum of two months. It is important to note that students pursuing STEM or engineering majors are not eligible for this administrative program, as CERN offers separate technical internship programs for those fields.

To apply, candidates must complete the online application form on the official CERN website and submit the required documents, including a detailed CV, academic transcript, and reference letters. Applicants should also include a compelling motivational statement that demonstrates their interest in CERN’s mission and their commitment to professional growth. Those applying for multiple CERN programs must submit separate applications for each.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to experience the inner workings of one of the world’s leading international organizations. Beyond professional development, it allows students to build global networks, enhance their soft skills, and gain exposure to a multicultural environment that values innovation, collaboration, and learning.

The deadline to apply for the CERN Administrative Student Program 2026 is November 16, 2025, and selected participants will be notified by the end of February 2026. This fully funded opportunity is ideal for students seeking a transformative experience that bridges academic knowledge with real-world professional skills in an international setting.
