China Launches Fully Funded BS, MS, and PhD Scholarships for Pakistani Students

The Chinese government has announced 75 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the 2026–27 academic year, aiming to strengthen educational ties between China and Pakistan. These scholarships cover undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs across various disciplines, providing students with an opportunity to pursue world-class education with full financial support.

The scholarships include fully-funded tuition fees covering education, administration, and health insurance, free accommodation in university dorms or a housing subsidy, and a monthly stipend according to Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) policy. Students are responsible for travel expenses. Undergraduate recipients may also receive a one-year Chinese language preparatory course unless they hold an HSK Level 3 certificate. Master’s and PhD programs are available in both English- and Chinese-taught formats.

Eligibility requirements specify that applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals in good health. Academic criteria differ by program level: undergraduates must have completed 12 years of education (Intermediate, A-level, F.A/F.Sc) and be under 25 years old, master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35, while PhD candidates must have a master’s or MPhil degree and be under 40. Professional degrees in medical, engineering, law, architecture, and veterinary fields must be accredited by the relevant councils. Dual nationals are not eligible.

Applicants must submit their profiles and applications through both the HEC and CSC portals. Required tests include the USAT for undergraduates (minimum score 50/100) and the HAT for master’s and PhD applicants (minimum score 50/100). Supporting documents include educational certificates, CNIC, passport, language proficiency proof, study plan or research proposal, police clearance, recommendation letters, and other documents specified by HEC.
