ICC Launches Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour Across Asia

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially kicked off the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 trophy tour with a spectacular launch over Adam’s Bridge, a historic and culturally significant location connecting India and Sri Lanka, the co-hosts of the upcoming tournament. In a visually striking display, the trophy was lifted using a two-seater paramotor against the backdrop of India’s southern coastline, marking the beginning of a unique fan engagement initiative.

Adam’s Bridge, known as Ram Setu in India, holds both cultural and symbolic importance, serving as a fitting gateway for the trophy tour linking the two nations. The ICC emphasized that the tour aims to bring the excitement of the T20 World Cup closer to fans across Asia, creating a sense of connection and anticipation for the 10th edition of the tournament.

The silver trophy will travel extensively throughout the region, including India, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Oman, Nepal, Bahrain, and Mongolia. During the tour, fans will have the opportunity to engage with the trophy through campus visits, fan meets, public activations, and cricket carnivals, providing a closer and more interactive experience for cricket enthusiasts.

In a particularly innovative move, the ICC plans to take the trophy to schools and colleges associated with players participating in the T20 World Cup. This initiative aims to inspire young fans, offering them a once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness the trophy and feel directly connected to the global cricketing stage.

Beyond the school visits, the trophy will also be showcased at major T20 leagues and selective bilateral series, helping build momentum and anticipation for the tournament across multiple cricket formats and regions.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled from February 7 to March 8 and will feature 20 teams divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Eight stage, intensifying the competition and excitement. The tournament opener will see Pakistan face the Netherlands, followed by the hosts and reigning champions India taking on the USA in Mumbai, setting the stage for a thrilling start to the event.
