Pakistan’s football footprint in South Asia has grown with three national team players joining Brothers Union FC in Dhaka. Center-back Abdullah Shah, winger Shayak Dost, and right-back Omar Rao have completed moves to the club, which competes in Bangladesh’s top-tier league.

Founded in 1949, Brothers Union, nicknamed the Oranges, has a strong history of developing young talent and producing competitive teams. The club won its first league title in 2003–04 and claimed another championship in 2005, establishing itself as a prominent force in domestic football.

The signings provide the Pakistani trio with regular playing time in a competitive regional league and an opportunity to gain international experience beyond Pakistan’s domestic competitions. The move follows another recent overseas attempt by Pakistani midfielder Alamgir Ghazi, whose potential transfer to a Bangladeshi club fell through due to agent commission disputes. Ghazi previously played for Thimphu City FC in Bhutan, demonstrating the increasing interest in Pakistani football talent despite challenges in international transfers.
