Pakistan national football team winger Ahmad Faraz Gulzari has suffered an ACL injury during training, ruling him out of the upcoming March fixture against Myanmar in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. The injury is a significant setback for both the player and the national team, requiring an extended period of recovery and rehabilitation. Gulzari, primarily a left winger but also capable on the right, is known for his pace, creativity, dribbling, and goal contributions, and is regarded as one of Pakistan’s most promising attacking talents. He began his football development with local clubs Casey Comets and Berwick City SC at age 13, quickly drawing attention with his scoring and assisting ability. In 2021, he joined the Melbourne City academy and represented Victoria in national youth championships. During the 2025 season, he excelled at the U23 and National Premier Leagues levels, recording 12 goals and 15 assists in 22 matches. His performances earned him a move in early 2026 to Melbourne Victory U21, where he competed in the NPL youth and reserve competitions. Gulzari received his first call-up to the Pakistan men’s national team in September 2025 and made his senior debut in October 2025 during the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. Since then, he has been highlighted as a rising star expected to bolster Pakistan’s attacking options in future international matches. Go back |
