Austin FC has officially parted ways with Colombian winger Jader Obrian, opting to buy out his guaranteed contract. This move frees up both a senior and an international roster slot, and his previous salary will no longer count against Austin FC’s 2026 budget.

Obrian, 30, had a strong debut season with Austin in 2024, contributing 11 goals and assists—seven goals and four assists—across 34 regular-season appearances, including 30 starts. However, his performance dipped last season, producing just one assist in 31 matches, with only nine starts.

Over his MLS career, Obrian totaled 24 goals and 14 assists in 159 appearances, including 100 starts, representing both FC Dallas from 2021 to 2023 and Austin FC. This contract buyout reflects Austin FC’s plans to restructure the squad and optimize roster space for the 2026 season.
