Hyderabad has officially revealed its Pakistan Super League identity, unveiling the team name and logo in a high-profile ceremony held at Niaz Stadium in Sindh. The new franchise will compete as the Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, a name that was announced by franchise owner Fawad Sarwar in front of a packed crowd, marking a major step as the team prepares for its debut PSL campaign.
The unveiling event drew a large turnout of fans and featured live music, fireworks, and celebratory visuals, creating a festive atmosphere as the city embraced its new cricketing brand. The striking logo was also showcased during the ceremony, giving supporters a first look at the team’s official emblem.
Hyderabad had already made waves ahead of the ceremony with several notable signings during the PSL draft. Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne was confirmed as one of the marquee overseas players, while Pakistan star Saim Ayub, currently ranked as the world’s No. 1 ICC T20 all-rounder, became the most expensive Pakistani player in PSL history after being signed in the Platinum category for a record Rs. 12.6 crore. This move underscored Hyderabad’s intent to build a competitive squad from the start.
The Kingsmen further strengthened their roster with several key acquisitions, including Usman Khan for Rs. 4.62 crore in the Diamond category, Maaz Sadaqat for Rs. 3.5 crore as an Emerging Player, and Akif Javed for Rs. 1.96 crore in the Gold category.
In addition to player recruitment, the franchise has also assembled a seasoned coaching staff. Former Australia fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been appointed head coach, supported by an international coaching team. Grant Bradburn will serve as fielding coach, Craig White as assistant coach, Hanif Malik will oversee batting, and Zac Martin will handle strength and conditioning.
With a distinctive identity, a star-studded squad, and an experienced coaching lineup already in place, the Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen have set a strong foundation as they gear up for their maiden season in the Pakistan Super League.
