PSL 11 Player Auction Venue Reportedly Finalized and Announced

Lahore’s Expo Center has been confirmed as the venue for the Pakistan Super League 2026 player auction, marking a historic shift in the league’s player recruitment process. The auction is scheduled for February 11, 2026, and will bring together PSL franchises, Pakistan Cricket Board officials, and key stakeholders in Lahore for the league’s first-ever auction-based player selection event.

The upcoming auction represents a major departure from the PSL’s traditional draft system. For PSL 11, franchises will bid competitively for players under a structured and transparent framework introduced by the PCB. The system includes clearly defined base price categories, minimum bid increments, and detailed squad-building regulations designed to ensure fairness and balance across teams.

Under the new auction rules, franchises must form squads of 16 to 20 players, with limits on the number of foreign players based on squad size. To promote youth development, the PCB has made it mandatory for teams to include uncapped Under-23 Pakistani players in both their squads and playing elevens, reinforcing the league’s focus on developing domestic talent.

In preparation for the transition, the PCB organized a PSL 11 auction workshop for franchises, covering bidding procedures, purse limits, player categories, and contract structures. The briefing aimed to ensure consistency and clarity as teams adapt to the new recruitment model.

The shift to an auction-based system aligns the PSL more closely with other major global T20 leagues and is expected to enhance transparency, competitiveness, and fan engagement. With the PSL 11 season set to begin in March 2026, the Lahore auction will play a decisive role in shaping team combinations and strategies as franchises prepare for the upcoming campaign.
