WhatsApp Web to Introduce Video Calling Feature Soon

0 0

WhatsApp is rolling out voice and video calling on its web app, allowing users to make calls directly from a browser. Previously limited to messaging, WhatsApp Web will now let users place calls using dedicated “Voice” and “Video” buttons in individual chats. Currently, the feature is only available for one-to-one conversations and remains under development to ensure stability and a bug-free experience.

Web calls on WhatsApp will support screen sharing and maintain end-to-end encryption, and the feature is expected to work on platforms like Linux, which lacks an official desktop app. There is no confirmed timeline for a full rollout, but this update will significantly enhance WhatsApp Web’s functionality for desktop users.

Earlier beta updates added shortcuts for users to query Meta AI about specific messages, enabling context-aware assistance without copying or forwarding text. The new “thinking mode” appears to expand on this capability, moving Meta AI toward more practical and useful responses. For now, thinking mode is still under development, while WhatsApp continues to focus on improving both visibility and functionality of its AI tools.
