Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of the Punjab (PU) to digitize the university’s fee payment system through Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR (DQR) solution. With this move, Punjab University becomes the first public sector university in Pakistan to implement Raast Dynamic QR for student fee payments, marking a significant step in digital banking and financial technology adoption in higher education.
Under the agreement, nearly 49,000 students at Punjab University will be able to pay their fees using Raast DQR, enabling instant, secure, and cashless transactions. The system eliminates the need for physical fee submission, long queues, and manual processing, offering a seamless digital payment experience for students, parents, and university administration.
Mr. Atif Ishaque, Chief Business Officer at Zindigi, said that introducing Raast Digital QR at PU transforms how thousands of students conduct transactions by making payments instant, secure, and fully digital. He emphasized that the initiative reflects Zindigi’s commitment to embedding digital financial solutions into everyday institutional operations and creating tangible on-ground impact.
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali stated that digitizing the fee payment system demonstrates the university’s dedication to modernization and operational efficiency. He noted that Raast Digital QR payments will ensure secure and convenient transactions while strengthening the university’s role in supporting Pakistan’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) Lahore, the University of the Punjab, and Zindigi. Officials highlighted the collaboration as a milestone in advancing digital payments in Pakistan’s public sector education system.
Zindigi continues to expand its digital financial services across multiple sectors, promoting secure payment solutions and supporting Pakistan’s transition toward a digitally empowered and cashless economy.
