UAE Completes World’s First AI-Powered Commercial E-Commerce Transaction

The UAE has achieved a global first by completing the world’s inaugural AI-powered commercial e-commerce transaction, announced at the Dubai Future Forum by Mastercard CEO Michael Miebach. The milestone transaction was conducted through an intelligent chatbot in partnership with commerce leader Monte Dylan, enabling users to purchase movie tickets using pre-stored payment information. This approach streamlines the payment process, making it faster, more convenient, and secure.

Officials noted that AI agents are expected to soon manage personalized shopping experiences and travel planning, enhancing efficiency and user convenience. The discussions at the forum also focused on crucial aspects such as security, trust, and fraud prevention to ensure safe adoption of AI in commerce.

UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Sultan Al Olama, highlighted the country’s commitment to leading in the adoption of advanced technologies. By integrating AI into everyday transactions, the UAE aims to make commerce smarter, more seamless, and more customer-centric, positioning itself at the forefront of the global digital economy.
