Samsung to Unveil ‘Brain Health’ Service at CES 2026 to Detect Early Cognitive Decline Using Wearables and Smartphones

Samsung is preparing to introduce a new “Brain Health” service at CES 2026, aimed at monitoring brain function and identifying early signs of cognitive decline through everyday device usage. According to a report by Chosun Biz, the service analyzes daily data collected from a user’s smartphone and wearable devices to detect subtle changes in cognitive performance over time.

The system is designed to track key physical and behavioral indicators, including voice patterns, walking gait, and sleep quality, which are increasingly recognized as early biomarkers of cognitive decline and dementia. By analyzing these signals continuously, the service seeks to identify gradual shifts that may not be noticeable through routine medical checkups or self-observation. Earlier indications from Samsung suggested that typing speed and app usage could also be monitored, but recent details highlight a stronger focus on physical movement, vocal changes, and sleep behavior.

If the Brain Health service detects potential early warning signs of dementia or general cognitive deterioration, it can recommend preventative measures and provide timely alerts. In emergency situations, caregivers can also be notified, enabling quicker intervention and support. In addition to detection, the service includes personalized brain training programs designed to help users maintain or improve cognitive abilities. These programs are expected to function in a manner similar to well-known brain training and logic-based games, offering targeted exercises tailored to individual needs.

Data privacy is a core element of the new service. Samsung plans to use its Samsung Knox security platform to store and process all sensitive health data directly on the device. This on-device processing approach is intended to ensure that personal cognitive health information remains protected and is not exposed to external servers or potential misuse.

While the development of the Brain Health service is reported to be nearly complete, Samsung is currently conducting clinical validation in collaboration with multiple medical institutions to ensure accuracy and reliability. Details regarding global availability and rollout timelines have not yet been finalized. However, a Samsung official stated that the company is actively reviewing the release schedule and intends to prioritize the service as part of its expanding healthcare and digital wellness ecosystem.
