The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched a formal bid evaluation process for Indus AI Week 2026, scheduled from February 8 to February 15, to ensure transparency and financial compliance in organizing the event. The ministry will appoint an independent consultant from a pool of prequalified firms to review bids and expenditures for the week-long technology event, covering firms engaged in event management, media, communications, and other operational activities. The consultant will assess the completeness and compliance of technical and financial proposals submitted by bidding firms and verify the reasonability of their financial submissions. The evaluation aims to strengthen oversight of the contracting process and ensure that selected firms meet defined criteria. Bids submitted to the ministry and its affiliated organizations, including the Pakistan Software Export Board and Ignite R&D Fund, will also be reviewed, with any deviations, gaps, or inconsistencies flagged before contracts are finalized. After the conclusion of Indus AI Week, the consultant will conduct a post-event review of expenditures incurred by the successful bidders to ensure spending aligns with approved budgets and identify any unusual or non-compliant items. The assignment will span one month, beginning with bid assessment and financial verification, followed by post-event expense validation. Officials said the evaluation process is part of broader efforts to reinforce governance, transparency, and accountability in major technology initiatives, while ensuring Indus AI Week meets its strategic objectives within approved financial and operational frameworks.
