Dubai Health is introducing a transformative approach to critical care through the implementation of its new Virtual ICU system, an artificial intelligence-driven platform currently undergoing a pilot phase at Al Jalila Children's Hospital. This innovative system employs sophisticated AI-enabled cameras to continuously observe patient behavior, tracking subtle indicators such as movement patterns, facial expressions, and skin tone fluctuations. These observations allow for the immediate identification of potential health issues, prompting swift alerts to the medical team for timely response.

By integrating directly with Salama, Dubai’s unified digital health record system, the Virtual ICU enhances clinical oversight by merging real-time visual monitoring with live patient data. This integration supports more proactive care decisions and improves the overall safety and outcomes for patients in critical condition. With full deployment planned for December, this advancement reflects a significant evolution in healthcare delivery, positioning AI as a vital tool in augmenting clinical support and redefining the standards of intensive care.
