China’s UBTECH Robotics has begun large-scale deployment of its Walker S2 humanoid robots, marking a significant milestone for the robotics industry. The company reports that hundreds of units have already been shipped to industrial partners, with production accelerating since mid-November. These robots are now operating directly on assembly lines, making this the first time human-shaped industrial robots have been mass-delivered for real-world factory use.

According to UBTECH, orders for the Walker S2 have reached 800 million yuan (roughly 113 million US dollars) in 2025. These orders come from a broad range of clients, including facilities that require smaller specialized setups as well as large industrial partners planning full-scale deployments. The company has announced that it expects to deliver around 500 Walker S2 units by the end of December and remains confident in achieving that goal.

The Walker S2 is engineered for continuous industrial work. It supports automatic battery swapping, allowing it to operate almost around the clock with minimal downtime. Introduced in July, the robot features advanced human-like joints, increased lifting capacity, and high-precision gripping abilities that make it suitable for demanding factory environments. UBTECH sees the Walker S2 as a major step forward in integrating robotics into labor-intensive industries, supporting automation needs where consistency, endurance, and precision are essential.
