Pakistan International Airlines has announced the resumption of its direct flights to London starting March 29, 2026, bringing an end to a six-year suspension of its operations in the United Kingdom. The move marks an important milestone for the national carrier as it works to restore its international network and improve connectivity for passengers traveling between Pakistan and the UK. According to a spokesperson for the airline, PIA will initially operate four weekly flights from Islamabad to London, with all services landing at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4. The restart of London flights is expected to significantly improve travel convenience for passengers, particularly those who have been relying on PIA’s limited three weekly services to Manchester during the suspension period. Heathrow’s central location and extensive onward connections are likely to make the service especially attractive to business travelers and members of the Pakistani diaspora. The decision follows PIA’s recent approval to utilize four weekly flight slots at Heathrow Airport. During the suspension of UK operations, these valuable slots had been temporarily allocated to Turkish Airlines to ensure they remained active. With regulatory restrictions easing, PIA has formally informed Heathrow authorities of its intention to reclaim the slots and resume flights to London from late March 2026. The restoration of London services is seen as a key step in PIA’s broader efforts to rebuild its presence in major international markets, enhance passenger confidence, and expand travel options between Pakistan and Europe.
