Sindh Government Approves 500 Electric Buses for Karachi and Hyderabad Under Green Transport ProjectToday, 05:19. Posted by: taiba |
The Sindh government has given the green light to deploy 500 new electric buses in Karachi and Hyderabad as part of the People’s Green Transport Project. Designed to accommodate approximately 200,000 passengers daily, the initiative includes the development of supporting infrastructure such as depots, charging stations, and an advanced fare system. The project aims to modernize urban mobility by introducing cleaner, more efficient public transport options for daily commuters. Alongside this, the government has also approved a 16.5-kilometer elevated expressway connecting Karachi Port to Qayyumabad. This expressway is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and reduce the travel distance to the M-9 Motorway by about 26 kilometers, further enhancing connectivity and reducing travel times within the city.
