Pakistan and Turkey are considering the launch of a direct ferry service between the two countries to strengthen trade, tourism, and maritime connectivity. The initiative aims to open new transport routes that could boost regional commerce and people-to-people exchanges between South Asia and Europe. In a recent meeting between Pakistan’s Maritime Affairs Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Turkey’s Minister of Transport, both sides discussed expanding cooperation in shipbuilding, port operations, and the ship-breaking industry. Turkish investors were encouraged to explore emerging business opportunities in Gwadar, a key hub for Pakistan’s maritime and trade development. A Turkish investor delegation is expected to visit Pakistan soon to evaluate potential projects and partnerships. The move reflects a growing commitment by both nations to deepen economic collaboration, enhance connectivity, and strengthen strategic ties across multiple sectors. Go back |
