ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis was informed that thousands of Pakistani citizens have been deported from various countries this year due to allegations of begging and violations of immigration rules.

The committee meeting, chaired by MNA Rafiullah, included a briefing from the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on trends related to offloading and deportations. The DG FIA reported that in 2025, approximately 51,000 Pakistanis were offloaded at airports while attempting to travel abroad.

He further revealed that Saudi Arabia deported around 24,000 Pakistanis during the year on charges of begging. Dubai returned nearly 6,000 Pakistani nationals on similar grounds, while Azerbaijan deported approximately 2,000 Pakistani citizens involved in begging activities.

The briefing highlighted ongoing challenges faced by Pakistani travelers abroad and underscored the importance of awareness regarding immigration regulations and legal conduct in foreign countries.
