Canada Invites Skilled Workers, Including Pakistanis, to Apply for Permanent Residency via Express Entry Federal Skilled Worker Program

Islamabad: Canada is offering an opportunity for foreigners, including Pakistani nationals, to apply for permanent residency through the Federal Skilled Worker Program under the Express Entry System. The program selects skilled workers based on factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and other eligibility criteria.

To qualify, applicants must meet minimum requirements in work experience, education, language proficiency, and their National Occupational Classification (NOC) related to their profession. Eligible candidates are then assessed using a points-based system, with a minimum score of 67 points required to apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program and submit a profile to the Express Entry pool.

Points are awarded in several categories: language skills (up to 28 points), education (up to 25 points), skilled work experience (up to 15 points), age (up to 12 points), arranged employment in Canada (up to 10 points), and adaptability (up to 10 points).

Applicants must also demonstrate proof of sufficient funds to support themselves and their families upon arrival in Canada. The required amount varies depending on family size: for a family of five, a minimum of CAD 32,168 is needed; for six members, CAD 36,280; and for seven members, CAD 40,392. These funds must be verified through official bank statements or letters from financial institutions to ensure newcomers can settle without financial difficulties.
