UK Weather Forecast: Up to 10 More Days of Rain as Flood Warnings Exceed 100 Across Britain

Britain’s prolonged spell of wet weather is set to continue, with the Met Office warning that many regions could face up to 10 more days of persistent rain. Forecasters say there is currently no indication of a sustained dry period over the next week to ten days.

Some parts of the United Kingdom have recorded rainfall every day so far in 2026, with certain locations experiencing more than 40 consecutive days of wet conditions. Meteorologist Simon Partridge said the unsettled pattern is expected to remain in place in the near term.

The Environment Agency has issued more than 100 flood warnings, while yellow rain alerts are active across multiple regions, raising concerns about localized flooding and travel disruption.

Weather experts attribute the extended rainfall to a strong jet stream steering successive low-pressure systems toward the UK, resulting in cloudy skies, gusty winds, and repeated spells of heavy rain.
