Pakistan has urged the international community to take notice of recent attacks on religious minorities in India, highlighting incidents of vandalism during Christmas and violence targeting Muslims, and called for measures to protect the fundamental rights of vulnerable communities.

Responding to media questions, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Tahir Andrabi described the persecution of minorities in India as a matter of serious concern. He pointed to Christmas vandalism and state-backed campaigns against Muslims, including home demolitions and repeated lynching cases, citing the high-profile murder of Muhammad Akhlaq as an example where authorities allegedly shielded the perpetrators from accountability. Andrabi emphasized that such actions have heightened fear and alienation among India’s Muslim population, and that the list of victims remains extensive.

Separately, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, general counsel of the pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), condemned attacks on Christians in India that he claimed were carried out by Hindu extremists on Christmas Day. In a video statement, Pannun described these incidents as part of a broader pattern of persecution under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government and appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize the threats faced by India’s Christian community, citing cultural, physical, and political dangers.

Pannun also proposed the creation of a separate Christian homeland, which he dubbed “Trumpland,” to be established in northeastern India. The proposed territory would include Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, and Assam, described as a contiguous Christian-majority region intended to provide refuge for persecuted Christians.
