Dubai is set to unveil the world’s first ‘Gold Street’ in its Gold District, a landmark project announced during the official launch of the Ithra Dubai Gold District. The initiative aims to create a historic attraction entirely made of gold, with more details expected in the coming months. The Gold District serves as Dubai’s new hub for gold and jewelry trade, bringing together retail, wholesale, bullion, and investment under one roof. Over a thousand leading brands in gold, perfume, and cosmetics are already featured, including prominent Indian and Arab jewelers such as Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas, Jawhara Jewellery, Tanishq, and Al Romaizan. Joyalukkas plans to open its largest flagship store in the Middle East, spanning 24,000 square feet, within the district. The UAE has emerged as a global leader in gold trading, exporting around $53.41 billion worth of gold in 2024–25, with key markets including Switzerland, the UK, India, Hong Kong, and Turkey. The country is now the world’s second-largest center for physical gold trading. Officials, including Ithra Dubai CEO Issam Galadari and Dubai Economic Tourism CEO Ahmed Al Khaja, emphasized that the Gold Street project blends Dubai’s heritage with modern innovation and is expected to provide a significant boost to the emirate’s economy.
