Pakistan has secured a rollover of Saudi Arabia's $3 billion financial support, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb confirmed on Wednesday, according to local media reports. The extension offers continued relief to the country's external financing position as it manages foreign debt obligations.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, Aurangzeb said the Saudi loan had been rolled over for a further period, noting that the matter had been deferred for an appropriate timeframe following discussions between the two nations. He described a recent meeting with his Saudi counterpart as productive and underlined the strength of the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The finance minister also indicated that Pakistan does not currently require any additional financial assistance from the kingdom. He said the country's foreign exchange reserves are sufficient to cover roughly three months of imports, a level that provides a buffer against external shocks.

Aurangzeb further noted that the government is working to avoid concentrating external debt repayments in any single year, a strategy aimed at smoothing out obligations and reducing pressure on public finances. The rollover is seen as a key component of Pakistan's external financing plan.

The Saudi support is one of several deposit arrangements with friendly countries that have helped Pakistan stabilize its reserves and meet balance-of-payments needs in recent years. Such rollovers are closely watched by investors and multilateral lenders as part of the country's broader economic management.

The confirmation comes as Islamabad continues to balance debt servicing with efforts to strengthen reserves and maintain macroeconomic stability. Officials have repeatedly emphasized that timely rollovers and continued inflows from partner nations remain central to the external account outlook.
