The Punjab government has opened applications for 285 postgraduate scholarships reserved for faculty members serving at public-sector nursing institutions across the province. The announcement is part of the Punjab Nursing and Health Workforce Reform Program and is aimed at raising the qualifications of the people who train the province's nurses.

The package is split into two categories. Fifteen scholarships cover PhD studies, with an emphasis on international education and research opportunities for nursing faculty. The remaining 270 places are for Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) programmes delivered through recognised universities inside Pakistan.

The Program Implementation Unit, operating under the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, will manage the selection and award process. Scholarships will be granted on a rolling basis until all approved seats are filled, according to the official announcement.

Applicants must be faculty members currently working at public-sector nursing institutions and must satisfy the academic and professional criteria set for their chosen MScN or PhD programme. The scheme is intended to strengthen educators' research skills and teaching capabilities, which the government expects to translate into better nursing instruction.

Officials describe the initiative as part of broader efforts to improve the quality of healthcare training in Punjab, where demand for well-qualified nursing staff has been rising. By funding advanced study for existing teachers, the programme seeks to build a stronger pipeline of nursing graduates entering the provincial health system.

Eligible faculty members can find further details, including application requirements and programme specifics, on the programme's official website.
