BAN vs PAK Gear Up for T20 Series Clash

Pakistan’s Captain Salman Agha Confident Ahead of Bangladesh T20 Series
Dhaka – Pakistan captain Salman Agha believes his young and evolving squad is on the right track as they gear up for the T20 World Cup 2026. The team will kick off a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Dhaka, starting Sunday.
Agha, who has been leading the T20 side in the absence of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, expressed confidence in the team’s progress and preparation.
“We’ve changed our playing style and are confident in our direction,” Agha said on Saturday.
“We’ve prepared well, and Bangladesh can be a tough opponent in their home conditions.”
Key Absences and New Faces
Pakistan will be without several key players for this series:
-
Shaheen Shah Afridi has been rested.
-
Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Wasim are sidelined due to injuries.
-
Shadab Khan, Pakistan’s main leg-spinner, is also out with injury.
To fill the gaps, the selectors have called up two uncapped fast bowlers:
-
Salman Mirza
-
Ahmed Daniyal
Despite the missing stars, Agha said they are still in the plans for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
New Coach, Positive Start
This series marks the second assignment for Mike Hesson, Pakistan’s newly appointed white-ball coach from New Zealand. Under his leadership, Pakistan recently achieved a 3-0 clean sweep against Bangladesh at home.
Bangladesh Ready for the Challenge
Bangladesh, led by Litton Das, is coming off a 2-1 T20 series win in Sri Lanka last week. They’ve retained the same squad for this home series.
“What happened in Sri Lanka is behind us,” said Litton Das.
“We’re facing a new challenge starting tomorrow. We’re confident but know we must perform well on the day rather than just rely on home conditions.”
