In the United States, another operation to transplant a pig’s heart into a human body has been performed. A 58-year-old American patient is rapidly recovering after the surgery.

The operation to transplant a pig’s heart into a human body was carried out by Dr. Mansoor Mahiuddin and Dr. Griffith. Dr. Mansoor Mahiuddin, who performed the surgery, is from Karachi.

Dr. Mansoor is a renowned expert in xenotransplantation, the transplantation of animal organs into humans. Before the transplantation, three genes that reject the pig’s heart were eliminated from the human genome.

The acceptance of the pig’s heart was made possible by the incorporation of 8 genes that eliminated the barriers to acceptance. The first operation to transplant a pig’s heart into a human body took place in January 2022.
