Realme C55 becomes first Android phone to feature Apple’s ‘Dynamic Island’ mini capsule


Realme, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has fulfilled its promise and unveiled the Realme C55 today. The phone boasts some exciting features, one of which is the inclusion of Apple’s Dynamic Island-like ‘Mini Capsule’, making it the first Android phone to offer this functionality.

Design and Display:

The Realme C55 features a 6.72-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 680 nits. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the power button on the phone’s right-hand side. The Mini Capsule offers various information, including low battery alerts, charging status, and data usage, as well as displaying daily step count and walking distance.

Internals and Software:

Powered by the Helio G88 SoC, the Realme C55 offers up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with a dedicated microSD card slot that supports storage expansion of up to 1TB. The phone runs on Realme UI 4.0, based on Android 13, right out of the box.


The Realme C55 features a total of three sensors, including an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls, and a 64MP primary camera on the rear, accompanied by a depth sensor that supports 1080p video recording.

Battery and Pricing:

The Realme C55 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery and 33W wired charging, a significant upgrade from the C35’s 18W charging. The phone is available at an affordable price, making it an excellent option for budget-conscious consumers.
