CDA Issues 15-Day Notices to Islamabad Madrasas Over Illegal Construction
The Capital Development Authority has warned several Islamabad seminaries that failing to fix building violations within 15 days could result in the premises being sealed.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued notices to several religious seminaries in Islamabad, accusing them of violating building control regulations, according to media reports. The notices state that the seminaries carried out construction without an approved building plan.
The CDA has given the seminary administrations 15 days to submit the required construction plans and remove all identified violations. The authority warned that failure to meet the deadline could lead to the premises being sealed.
According to the notices, the violations include unauthorized construction on mandatory setbacks and additional structures built on rooftops. The CDA also objected to the buildings being used as seminaries rather than for residential purposes, which the notices say is inconsistent with the approved use.
The action follows a separate notice issued to the Islamabad residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman over alleged illegal construction and encroachments. That notice directed the property's administration to remove unauthorized structures on mandatory setbacks within 15 days and warned of sealing, demolition, financial penalties and cancellation of the property's allotment if the violations were not addressed.
The CDA has not publicly linked the two cases, and it is not clear whether the seminary notices are part of a broader enforcement drive. The authority has previously carried out operations against illegal construction and encroachment in the capital.
Officials have not specified how many seminaries received notices or where they are located. Seminary administrations have not publicly responded to the notices.
The CDA has urged property owners and institutions to comply with building regulations and warned that enforcement action will follow for unapproved construction.
