Gold Prices Fall by Rs. 6,500 per Tola in Pakistan as Global Rates Slip
Gold in Pakistan dropped by Rs. 6,500 per tola on Friday, reversing most of the previous day's sharp gain, as international rates also declined.

Gold prices in Pakistan fell by Rs. 6,500 per tola on Friday, reversing much of the previous day's steep increase, as international rates also moved lower. According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the local rate settled at Rs. 429,136 per tola.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold declined by Rs. 5,573 to Rs. 367,914. A day earlier, the metal had surged, with the per-tola rate climbing Rs. 9,600 to Rs. 435,636. Friday's decline erased most of that single-day gain.
The local movement tracked the international market, where the global gold rate dropped by $65 to $4,066 per ounce. Silver also became cheaper, with the rate falling by Rs. 85 to Rs. 5,678 per tola, according to the association.
For buyers of jewellery or investment gold, the latest adjustment offers a Rs. 6,500 saving per tola compared with Thursday's closing level. The association's quoted rate is widely used as a benchmark for retail transactions across the country.
Prices remain highly volatile, however. This week's swings show the rate can move by thousands of rupees in either direction within a single day, making timing a key consideration for buyers. Consumers are advised to compare rates across Sarafa shops and confirm the APGJSA quote before finalising a purchase.
The decline follows a period of sharp fluctuations in the local market, including one of the biggest single-day jumps seen in recent weeks earlier this month. Traders continue to watch international trends closely, as domestic rates are closely linked to global bullion prices and currency movements.
