Gold Prices Rebound in Pakistan, Gaining Rs. 2,400 per Tola After Sharp Weekend Drop
Gold recovered some of its recent losses on Monday, rising Rs. 2,400 per tola to Rs. 412,136, though rates remain well below last week's peak.

Gold prices in Pakistan recovered some ground on Monday, with the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reporting a gain of Rs. 2,400 per tola that brought the rate to Rs. 412,136. The rebound came just two days after a steep decline of Rs. 10,800 per tola on Saturday.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs. 2,058 to Rs. 353,340, according to the association's daily rates. The local increase tracked a rise in international markets, where gold gained $24 to reach $3,896 per ounce. The international price remains below the $4,000 level it briefly surpassed last week.
Silver also edged higher, with the per-tola rate rising by Rs. 100 to Rs. 5,488. The metal has been highly volatile in recent weeks, moving sharply in both directions from one session to the next. Monday's gain recovered only a fraction of Saturday's loss, when gold fell to Rs. 409,736 per tola.
Despite the recent swings, buyers are still paying considerably less than they were at the end of October. A single tola now costs Rs. 13,500 less than the October 28 rate, while 10 grams of gold is about Rs. 11,574 cheaper than the Rs. 364,914 recorded that day. For a family purchasing five tolas of jewellery, the difference amounts to roughly Rs. 67,500 in savings before making charges are added.
Market watchers note that with international prices still hovering below the $4,000 threshold and changing rapidly, local rates could shift again in the coming sessions. Gold remains a closely followed asset in Pakistan, where it serves both as an investment and a traditional store of value for households.
The APGJSA issues gold and silver rates daily based on international market movements and the rupee-dollar exchange rate, meaning local prices can adjust quickly whenever global conditions change.
