Punjab Announces Over 8,000 College Teaching Intern Jobs

The Punjab Higher Education Department has approved the hiring of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to fill faculty shortages in public colleges across the province.
The initiative will run during the 2025–26 academic session, with contracts lasting seven months for Intermediate classes (October 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026) and ten months for BS programs (October 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026, or until permanent appointments are made).
Eligibility: Applicants must have at least a BS or Master’s degree (second division), while MPhil and PhD holders will be preferred. Merit will be based on academic records, qualifications, university positions, and interview performance.
Stipend: Selected candidates will receive Rs. 50,000 per month for Intermediate classes and Rs. 60,000 per month for BS programs, paid directly into their bank accounts.
The recruitment includes 5% quota for minorities, 3% for persons with disabilities, and 0.5% for the transgender community. The department clarified there is no age limit for applicants.
Officials say the move aims to maintain academic continuity in government colleges until permanent staff are appointed.
