Australia's 18-Member Preliminary Squad for the 2023 World Cup

Cricket Australia (CA) has revealed the initial squad lineup for the upcoming World Cup 2023, set to be held in India during October and November.

The preliminary squad, consisting of 18 members, mostly features players from the lineup that secured a series win against India on their home turf earlier this year.

As per the Australian cricket authorities, Pat Cummins will lead the team during this high-profile tournament. The squad introduces fresh faces, including Aaron Hardie and Tanveer Sangha.

The pace department will be spearheaded by Pat Cummins, supported by seasoned bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. All-rounder options include Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green.

The top-order batting slots are occupied by David Warner and Travis Head, while the middle-order includes Steve Smith, Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, and Glenn Maxwell.

The spin bowling unit will be led by leg-break spinner Adam Zampa, assisted by slow left-arm orthodox bowler Ashton Agar and the emerging talent of young spinner Tanveer Sangha.
