All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance Cuts Freight Rates by 5% After Fuel Price Reduction
The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has reduced freight charges by 5%, following recent cuts in petrol and diesel prices announced by the government.

The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a five percent reduction in freight rates, responding to the recent decline in petroleum prices. The decision was confirmed by Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan, who said the move reflects the fall in fuel costs over the past four to five days.
According to the announcement, the freight rate cut is directly tied to the government's latest fuel price adjustment. Petrol prices were reduced by Rs. 9.41 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs. 352.59 per litre. Diesel prices fell by Rs. 5.56 per litre, with the new price set at Rs. 382.25 per litre.
Awan expressed appreciation for the prime minister and the federal petroleum minister over the fuel price relief, noting that lower diesel and petrol costs are a major factor in the operating expenses of goods transporters. The alliance's decision is expected to lower transportation costs across supply chains that depend on road freight.
At the same time, the alliance urged the government to consider further reductions in petrol and diesel prices. Awan said additional relief would help the transport sector manage its costs more effectively and support the broader goal of keeping goods movement affordable.
The reduction in freight rates is a notable development for businesses and consumers who rely on road transport for the movement of goods. Fuel prices are a key input for the logistics sector, and changes in transportation costs can influence the pricing of a wide range of products across the country.
