Dongfeng has recorded substantial demand for its commercial vehicles in Pakistan, with the brand generating approximately Rs. 17.8 billion in sales from around 1,100 heavy-duty trucks during FY26, according to details shared during a corporate briefing by Ghandhara Industries Limited (GHNI) and covered by Topline Securities. The performance gives Dongfeng an estimated 27 percent share of the country's heavy commercial vehicle market.

Company management said Dongfeng's revenue was primarily driven by its heavy-duty vehicle lineup, while its DFAC light commercial vehicles contributed an additional Rs. 1.3 billion in sales during the same period. The figures offer a window into the competitive dynamics of Pakistan's commercial vehicle sector, which serves logistics, construction and transport operators nationwide.

In the light commercial vehicle segment, the company reported that JAC and DFAC together command roughly 21 percent of the market. According to management, these numbers underscore Ghandhara's established position across both heavy and light commercial vehicle categories, giving the manufacturer a diversified footprint in the country's vehicle market.

Looking ahead, GHNI said it is targeting sales of approximately 6,000 units across its commercial vehicle portfolio in FY27. The ambitious target reflects management's confidence in continued demand for trucks and light commercial vehicles as economic activity and infrastructure development drive replacement and expansion purchases in the transport sector.

The disclosure comes as Pakistan's commercial vehicle market remains closely watched by investors and analysts, given its sensitivity to overall economic conditions, financing costs and construction activity. Dongfeng's market share gains highlight the intensifying competition among brands vying for fleet operators and small businesses alike.

Ghandhara Industries' briefing provided one of the clearer recent snapshots of how foreign-branded commercial vehicles are performing in Pakistan. The company's dual focus on heavy-duty trucks and lighter commercial platforms positions it to serve a broad range of buyers, from large logistics companies to small-scale traders and transporters.
