Eight Militants Killed in Security Operation in North Waziristan

Security forces have killed eight militants affiliated with Fitna-al Khawarij in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to security sources on Thursday.

The sources stated that during the operation, the hideouts of the terrorists were destroyed and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and equipment was recovered from their possession.

Security sources said the militants attempted to use a mosque as cover to evade security forces. Steps were taken by forces to respect the sanctity of the mosque while conducting the operation, the sources added.

This operation follows a series of anti-militant actions in Balochistan, where security forces reportedly killed 19 members of Fitna-al Khawarij and Fitna-al Hindustan since 21 September, as stated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.

According to the ISPR, intelligence agencies detected multiple hideouts of India-backed militants in the Shaban area of Quetta. Since 21 September 2026, a clearance operation has been underway in the region to safeguard civilians and eliminate threats, the ISPR reported.

So far, 13 India-sponsored terrorists have been killed in the Shaban area. Separate engagements conducted in District Kech and District Quetta West on 22 and 23 September resulted in the deaths of six additional militants, according to the ISPR. Weapons and ammunition were seized during these actions.

ISPR further confirmed that Subedar Muhammad Jamil, aged 39, lost his life during the exchange of fire, embracing martyrdom in the line of duty.
