The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced scheduled power interruptions across parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal on Saturday, November 7, as it carries out annual maintenance, construction and development work along with grid transformer upkeep. Most affected 11kV feeders will remain off from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, though several areas face longer windows.

The longest single outage is scheduled in Rawalpindi Cantt, where the New GHQ feeder will be switched off from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a total of eight hours. In Rawalpindi City, the KRL Complex feeder is set to remain off from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while hospital-area feeders in the Cantt division are limited to a shorter 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM window. Power will also be suspended in parts of Satellite Town, City and Westridge, as well as the Cantt, Chaklala, Mandra, Rawat, Kahuta, Kallar Syedan and Tariqabad areas.

In the federal capital, construction-related feeders serving Bani Gala, Ghauri Town, Sohan and adjoining areas will be off from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Maintenance on the Nilore-Bahria Enclave 132kV transmission line is listed from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Outages will also touch Nilore, Tarlai, Bara Kahu, Murree, Jhika Gali and Patriata, along with sectors including D-12, F-6, F-8, G-6, G-7, G-9, G-10, G-11, G-13, H-9, H-11, I-9, I-10 and I-11. The 132kV F-6 grid station will have a shorter midday window for power transformer maintenance.

In Attock, feeders across the Taxila, Wah Cantt, Hassan Abdal, Attock, Hazro, Pindi Gheb and Fateh Jang divisions will be affected. Construction feeders running from Sangjani through Wah and Taxila will be off from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while some Attock Cantt feeders are scheduled from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Transformer maintenance at the Sanjwal grid station is planned from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and the Sanjwal-Attock 132kV circuit is listed from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In Jhelum, the Jhelum-I, Jhelum-II and Gujar Khan divisions, including Sarai Alamgir, Dina, Sohawa and Bewal, will see all listed feeders go off from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. In Chakwal, feeders in the Chakwal, Dhudial, Pind Dadan Khan and Talagang divisions will follow the same 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM schedule for annual maintenance and construction work.

IESCO has apologised to consumers for the inconvenience and requested their cooperation during the maintenance period. The utility noted that the same programme also led to power cuts across the region on November 3 and November 4, as it works to upgrade infrastructure and complete development projects in its service area.
