Lahore Traffic Police Unveil Detailed Plan for Annual Raiwind Ijtima 2026
Authorities have mapped out seven entry routes, ten diversion points and parking for thousands of vehicles as the two-phase Raiwind Ijtima approaches in November.

Lahore Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic management plan for the annual Raiwind Ijtima 2026, setting out designated entry routes, parking areas and diversion points for participants arriving from cities across the country.
The gathering will be held in two phases, with the first running from November 5 to 8 and the second from November 12 to 15. The concluding prayers for each phase are scheduled for the respective Sundays, November 8 and November 15, which are expected to draw the largest crowds.
To manage the influx of vehicles, authorities have designated seven entry routes, including Lahore-Raiwind Road, Sunder Road and Manga Road. Diversion points will be set up at ten locations to keep traffic moving, while parking facilities have been arranged for 2,800 large vehicles, 5,400 cars and 10,000 motorcycles.
Participants travelling from Gujranwala via GT Road will be directed to use the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange on the motorway to reach Raiwind. Those coming from Faisalabad and Sheikhupura will use the Faizpur Interchange, while visitors from Okara will travel through the NFC Interchange on Ring Road and then along Raiwind Road.
A substantial security and management deployment will support the operation, with 1,103 officers and personnel assigned to traffic duties. This includes seven DSPs, 203 inspectors and senior traffic wardens, and 866 traffic wardens and assistants. Authorities will also deploy 15 lifters and nine breakdown vehicles to handle any disruptions along the routes.
Throughout the event, police will provide real-time traffic updates through Rasta FM, the Rasta mobile app and social media platforms to help commuters plan their journeys and avoid congestion. The scale of the arrangements reflects the significant daily traffic flow generated by the multi-day gathering, one of the largest religious congregations in the country.
