Pakistan vs India World Cup 2027 Clash Draws 8.4 Million Ticket Requests, Outstripping Final
The group-stage meeting between Pakistan and India at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 has generated nearly 8.4 million ticket requests, more than the tournament final, the ICC has said.

The group-stage encounter between Pakistan and India at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 has drawn close to 8.4 million ticket requests, exceeding the demand recorded for the tournament final, according to the International Cricket Council.
The archrivals are scheduled to meet on October 10, 2027, at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, a venue with a capacity of roughly 34,000 spectators. The final, set for November 21 at the same ground, has attracted nearly 8 million requests, the ICC said.
Both teams have been placed in Group A alongside Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and a qualifying side. Depending on how the tournament unfolds, Pakistan and India could meet again in the Super 7 stage and potentially a third time in the final.
The governing body disclosed on Monday that the tournament has received more than 120 million ticket requests in total, with about 2.8 million fans from 193 countries taking part in the ballot. South Africa, the United Kingdom, India, the United States and Australia lead registrations, while applicants from African nations have submitted over 14.9 million requests.
The ticket ballot opened on October 1 and will remain open until November 21. Registration is free, and successful applicants will be selected through a randomized process that gives them the chance to purchase tickets.
The 14-team event will stage 57 matches across 12 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia between October 2 and November 21, 2027. It marks the return of the Men's Cricket World Cup to Africa after 24 years, following the 2003 edition, with Namibia hosting men's World Cup matches for the first time and Zimbabwe opening its new stadium at Victoria Falls.
