Bank of Punjab Launches Pakistan's First Mastercard World Elite Credit and Debit Cards
BOP partners with Mastercard to roll out the country's first World Elite credit and debit cards, targeting premium customers with global travel, dining and lifestyle benefits.

The Bank of Punjab has partnered with Mastercard to introduce Pakistan's first Mastercard World Elite credit and debit cards, a move that expands the bank's premium banking lineup and gives customers access to an internationally recognised payments product.
According to the bank, the launch builds on its rise to become the country's largest credit card issuer, a position it reached despite entering the cards market after more established competitors. BOP said the new offering is intended to turn that growth into a wider range of payment choices aimed at premium customers and their travel and lifestyle needs.
The World Elite proposition combines global payment acceptance with benefits across travel, dining, lifestyle and entertainment. By offering both credit and debit versions, the bank is catering to customers with different payment preferences while connecting them to experiences in Pakistan and abroad.
The collaboration pairs BOP's customer relationships and banking capabilities with Mastercard's international payments network and its World Elite programme. The bank described the launch as part of a broader transformation agenda in which digital innovation and customer experience remain central to product development.
Zafar Masud, President and CEO of The Bank of Punjab, said the bank's growth into the largest credit card issuer reflects its focus on innovation and customer experience, and described the new cards as another milestone in its transformation and its ambition to set new benchmarks in premium banking. Mark Elliott, Division President for East Arabia at Mastercard, said the partnership deepens ties with BOP and reflects a shared commitment to elevating customer experiences and supporting the evolution of Pakistan's payments ecosystem.
