Pakistan Railways Plans Major Modernisation of Karachi's Drigh Road Station
Pakistan Railways has approved a renovation and modernisation plan for Drigh Road Railway Station in Karachi, with senior officials reviewing the proposal and directing improvements to track infrastructure and passenger facilities.

Pakistan Railways has decided to upgrade Drigh Road Railway Station in Karachi with modern facilities as part of a broader effort to improve passenger services on one of the city's busiest rail corridors, ARY News reported.
Under the plan, the station will undergo renovation and modernisation. Divisional Superintendent Railways Karachi Jamshed Alam visited the station along with other officials to review the proposed upgradation plan and issued instructions for its implementation.
During the visit, the divisional superintendent also inspected railway points and crossings in the area around the station. Officials reviewed issues affecting these points and crossings as well as broader operational hurdles, and directed that measures be taken to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted train operations.
Jamshed Alam said providing quality and comfortable travel facilities to passengers was a priority, adding that the station's upgradation would improve services for daily commuters who rely on the route.
The move reflects ongoing efforts by Pakistan Railways to modernise older stations and address infrastructure constraints that can affect punctuality and safety. Further details on the scope and timeline of the Drigh Road project are expected as the plan moves toward implementation.
