A Houthi missile attack on Riyadh caused minor damage to the Aramco Tower in the King Abdullah Financial District after Saudi forces intercepted the projectile, Saudi officials said on Sunday. According to the energy ministry, falling shrapnel struck the skyscraper, shattering windows across several floors and leaving debris hanging from the structure. No deaths or injuries were reported.

Witnesses told Reuters that multiple booms were heard across the capital on Sunday morning, and the Saudi Civil Defense issued early-warning alerts. Emergency alerts were also issued in several oil-rich provinces, including Dhahran, where Saudi Aramco maintains its headquarters. Employees in the financial district have largely been working from home in recent weeks as the Saudi-Houthi conflict has reignited.

The Aramco Tower, distinguished by its zig-zag upper floors, is one of the tallest buildings in the King Abdullah Financial District. Video circulating online showed extensive damage to multiple floors. The Iran-backed Houthi movement said the strike was one of several targeting Aramco facilities over the weekend.

The escalation follows a Saturday bombing in Yemen that killed at least 33 people, one of the deadliest series of strikes since the conflict began. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree warned that Saudi Arabia would "pay a heavy price for every crime and act of aggression." The attacks mark a further deterioration in regional security with potential implications for global energy markets.

Saudi authorities have not commented on potential retaliation. The incident highlights continuing risks to civilian infrastructure and commercial operations in the region, with the energy sector remaining a focal point of the conflict.
