NADRA Offices Nationwide to Close on November 9 for Iqbal Day

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that all of its offices across Pakistan will remain closed on Monday, November 9, in observance of Allama Iqbal Day, the national holiday marking the birthday of the poet and philosopher widely regarded as the inspiration behind the idea of Pakistan.

According to the authority, round-the-clock service centres will also suspend operations, shutting from midnight between November 8 and 9 and reopening at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10. The arrangement means citizens who rely on late-night or early-morning processing will need to plan their visits around the holiday window.

To reduce inconvenience, NADRA said a range of services will remain accessible during the closure through the Pak ID mobile application, allowing users to complete several registration and identity-related tasks remotely. Citizens seeking assistance can reach the authority's mobile helpline at 1777 or consult its official website at www.nadra.gov.pk.

The closure is part of the nationwide observance of Iqbal Day, a public holiday during which government departments and many private institutions scale back operations. NADRA's network is central to everyday civic life in Pakistan, handling identity cards, birth and death registrations, family certificates and other documentation used for banking, travel and official procedures.

Residents are advised to complete urgent documentation requirements before the holiday or use digital channels where possible. Normal operations at all offices and 24-hour centres are expected to resume on the morning of Tuesday, November 10.
