Neela Gumbad Underground Parking Plaza in Lahore Reaches 90% Completion
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq inspected the Neela Gumbad parking plaza on Sunday, where officials confirmed that roughly 90% of construction is complete across all three basement levels.

The Neela Gumbad underground parking plaza in Lahore has reached approximately 90 percent completion, moving the facility closer to opening for motorists, officials said. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq inspected the site on Sunday to review the construction progress firsthand.
During the visit, officials briefed the LDA chief that workers had finished around 90 percent of the project and were moving quickly to complete work across all three basement levels. Farooq also examined the seating area planned for the upper section of the plaza and reviewed samples of lighting fixtures and tiles intended for the facility.
The director general directed the relevant officials to speed up the remaining tasks. These include asphalt carpeting on the link road that will connect Mall Road with Neela Gumbad, installation of the parking management system, and finishing work such as painting and flooring.
Farooq further instructed the project director and the contractor to complete finishing work on all associated structures as soon as possible and to submit daily progress reports to track the pace of construction. TEPA Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain and the project director provided the briefing on the construction status and the components still outstanding.
Once operational, the underground plaza is expected to ease parking congestion in the busy commercial and historic area around Neela Gumbad, offering structured parking space across its three basement levels. The facility is part of broader efforts to improve urban infrastructure and traffic management in Lahore.
